Originally from Santa Barbara, California, I have a BA in Fine Arts, with a specialization in Graphic design and Illustration, and a Minor in Anthropology from California State University, Fullerton. I received an MA in Socio-Cultural Anthropology in 2011 and a Ph.D. in Medical Anthropology from Durham University in 2015. My area of expertise, health and well-being, stimulates new ideas for methodology, concepts, and theory. I have worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Notre Dame and I was an Honorary Research Fellow at Durham University. In addition to my postdoctoral work at Notre Dame, I was an Adjunct Lecturer for the Anthropology Department. I then worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health on a T32 training grant for Cancer Epidemiology, Prevention, and Control. It was a stimulating time in Baltimore and one I will treasure.
Currently, I am an Adjunct Lecturer for the University of Maryland in Baltimore and a Research Scientist at Levine Cancer Institute.
Aside from my academic accomplishments, I am also a certified Private Pilot and Advanced Ground Instructor – although, it has been a long time since I have been in the air.
